Last fall, I assisted Tesha McKinley Photography at this sweet intimate wedding in the Greer City Park. 

These are just a few gorgeous photos from a wedding I second shot with the very talented Olivia Griffin last fall.

These photos are from a wedding I second shot with Lisa Carpenter Photography back in December. They are so beautiful that I dug them out of my hard drive to share them with you! I’ve got some fabulous weddings lined up this year and I’m so excited!

Max and I have been saying for at least a year and a half now, “When are we going to shoot again?” So, when I was looking for someone to model for my film camera, I called him up. I’m definitely slower when shooting film, but I have so much fun. Here are just a few of my favorites from our session:

I was so pleased to get a message from Carrie asking about family portraits and I was even more pleased when I arrived at their home and it was 75˚ outside! Talk about a beautiful day for portraits! Since it was so pretty, we started with family portraits outside. With babies in bare feet. <3 But toddlers can only sit still for so long and Wyatt played with Ryan while I took photos of Carrie and three-weeker Charlotte.

After that, we headed back inside for more pictures. I think the photos on the bed are some of my favorite ever! I had so much fun at our session and here are just a few of my favorites below. If you want to see the full session, just go to the gallery. :)

After our session, I saw my reflection in my car window right as I was about to get in. I had somehow left my sunglasses on the entire time without realizing it! Maybe that’s why it took me what felt like ages to figure out that I was calling Lexie the wrong name. She couldn’t tell I was looking at her! Oops! Note to self: always double check for sunglasses. You’d think it would be something I’d notice. Apparently not.

Well, that didn’t stop us from having a great photo session. :) Allie and Mark always shows up with well-behaved kids and a family in well-coordinating outfits. Harry & Renee are not newlyweds. But they were about to head down to Mexico to renew their vows and have a fabulous second honeymoon! And before they went, they wanted some wedding pictures at the Rock Quarry Garden here in Greenville. It was a hot afternoon, but I was glad I spent it with them. The main goal of the session was to get a good formal portrait of Renee to hang up in their home, but I also got some fabulous candids in between formal photos. Those very well may be my favorites because, you know, I just love to see couples enjoying each others’ company. :)

Meredith is a sweet friend that I know through swing dancing. She got married last year and I had the opportunity to take her engagement photos before she was whisked away with her new military husband. I just love couples’ portrait sessions but what makes engagement session so special is how excited my subjects are. I mean, come on! They’re getting married soon! Why wouldn’t they be excited?

I think John and Meredith’s love for each other and excitement about getting married really shows through in these photographs. :)

Winter is a good time for personal projects. But you might not look at these photos and think that we took them in January because it was SO warm outside that day. It was 70˚ outside and so beautiful! It’s winter days like these that make me glad I live in the South! (But please remind me of that in August!)

I had such a fun time shooting with Kelly and I just wanted to share a few of my favorites

This is part two of my shoot with Kelly. While our first set was all concrete and cocktail dresses, I decided I wanted something a little more casual. So, Kelly changed back into her street clothes and we found a little patch of woods for the second part of our session. I managed to get a bit mangled up in prickly weeds, of course! But my clumsiness aside, I got some great shots!


I also pulled out my film camera (or, rather, the one that Olivia is lending me!) for part of this session. And now I really am looking forward to more film portrait sessions!
